Will this ever end?

Dan and I have been very sick for some time now.  I have been coughing for about 3 weeks, and Dan for about 2 weeks, and I finally made him go to the doctor last Friday (a week ago today).  They told him he probably has bronchitis, along with allergies (which we knew) and ashma (which we also knew) and put him on a few different meds.  He is still not feeling better!

Then, yesterday, I finally broke down and went to the doctor myself.  Turns out I also have bronchitis, along with a sinus infection, and (to top it off) pink eye.  Joy.  Six more prescriptions later, here we are both feeling pretty terrible.  I just want to get better!!

Nothing New Here!

Yes, yes, I know it's been a while since I've posted anything really meaningful, but that's just the way life has been going recently.  Just sort of trudging along.  Dan and I are both fighting a mean chest cold, and nothing blog-worthy has really happened in a while.

I did take a few pictures of Bella & Bentley the other day.  So here you go.  By the way, these are totally un-altered, straight from the camera...because I am waiting for the new PSE to come out on March 24th.  And then I can play again.  Anyway, here they are.  Can you tell which ones are before the haircut and which ones are after?

Oh HAIL!

Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of heavy rain, thunder, and then, what sounded like a pin ball machine. It turned out to be a major hail storm. I had never seen hail this large before! They were the size of golf balls!! Here are some pictures, sorry they aren't the best.

Our two cars, which sat outside, took the most damage. So many cars were hit in our area that the insurance company filed a catastrophe claim! So it may be a few weeks until we can get them fixed.

Evaluation

My friend LivE inpired me to take a look at my New Year's Resolutions and take stock to see how I'm doing so far. I think this is a great idea, so the first week of every month, I will try and do this. Keeps me honest, you know?

I only have 3 NYR's so in theory, it shouldn't be too hard. Anyway, here we go:

#1: Spend more quality time with my husband.

Well, I think we did pretty well here last month, since we spent 10 days together in Florida. We had a blast together, and I hope we get to take some more mini-vacations this year, just the 2 of us.

#2: Keep a journal.

I am proud to say that I have been doing a very good job. I am current! Some days, I have missed, and then I've had to go back and write a couple days to catch up, but I don't think this is cheating. :)

#3: Read the Bible.

To be honest, I am 3 days behind. I got off-track when we went on vacation, and I've been strugging to catch up, but I will! Soon! And it's been amazing so far - I LOVE that I have 172 verses to read each day because it gets me really thinking about what is happening, and ties stories together so I see them in a different light. It's nice!

In the meantime, I've added another pseudo-resolution. As of January 1st, I have given up all soda. Now, I didn't think this would be very difficult because I didn't think that I drink all that much soda... but I guess I do because the cravings have been difficult!! Isn't that crazy? Before, I would drink less than 1 can of soda a day, sometimes 1 per week, but now that I "can't" have it, I seem to want it more. But so far, so good. 1 month down. :)

And there you have it. Not so bad, if I do say so myself! How are you coming on your Resolutions?

A tribute

President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away last week, and I've been trying to put into words what I felt when I first heard the news. With his age, we of course knew it was coming, but I guess I didn't expect it. President Hinckley was "my" prophet. I joined the church just over 10 years ago, and so he's all I've ever "known." It is sad but at the same time so peaceful, and I'm glad to know that he is safe and sound with his beloved wife.

Thanks to Lisa & Kari for helping with the U-Tube questions!!

Feeling... older.

Well, another birthday come and gone. :) I turned 29 this past Thursday! Can you believe it? No, neither can I! I certainly don't feel 29. That is dangerously close to ... ahem.. 30. hehe.

Anyway, I spent the week of Jan 21st in Ft Lauderdale (for work - I know, rough, huh?), and Dan flew out and met me Wednesday night for my birthday. The next day, we drove to Orlando and spent the next few days at Disney World. Woohooo! It was a very fun way to turn 29. And I promise to post pictures. Soon. We got in last night at about midnight, and after picking up the dogs, unpacking, catching a conference call, and tackling mountains of laundry (how can 2 people generate so much laundry, anyway?), I am ready for a vacation (again). :)

At any rate, I'm back. Did you miss me?
